Abstract

The article, we analyse the insecurity associated with the loss of middle-aged people in different areas of life. Special attention is focused on the factors that are threats to security, but also on the factors through which security can be strengthened. Losses are linked as an essential part of human life and stop to consider the purpose of existence as well. Future threats to the health of own and loved ones include, for example, the prevalence of long-term diseases and the resulting difficulty of survival. Fear of interpersonal disconnectedness, serious conflicts within one’s family, and loss of loved ones are among the most significant threats related to relationships. Uncertainty of continuity of work and becoming unemployed cause insecurity in the working life. Declining livelihoods and, with it, becoming more difficult to access welfare services are threats that also affect middle-aged people. Safety manifests itself in the certainty of being good in relation to health, livelihood, close people, and work, and being human. When looking at the past, present and future, man is confronted with his personal world of value and culture.
