Abstract

Social science as we understand it today emerged more or less hand in hand with industrial capitalism. Although there had been mostly a somewhat critical undertone (if not even ambition) we find a funda-mental flaw: the strive for a positivist understanding of science in general and in particular the social. Following the move quantum physics made, may be an option to bring the social as complex and contradictory concept back on the agenda.

This is the ambition of the present essay: while being well in¬formed, it will maintain the classical form of an essay, an instrument for openly ventilating ideas instead of reproducing and reframing what is commonly known and accepted. Call it a think-piece, reflect¬ing on the subject matter rather than presenting what is commonly understood a scholarly knowledge.
