From the editors’ preface:

Florian Horky and Paulina Kintzinger examine the dynamics and developments of Chinese M&A transactions in the wake of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) by comparing Germany and the member countries of the 17+1 group in Central and Eastern Europe. Their mixed methods analysis comes to the conclusion that M&A transactions in Germany are substantially stronger than in CEEC but that the investment dynamic from China passed its peak in 2016 across the board.
