From Introduction

This paper asks which kind of insecurity is experienced by environmental phenomena in Finland, and to which kind of activity that leads to. The environment is studied in accordance with practical syllogism, as experiences, beliefs, intentions and as activity.

Research questions are:

1. Which kind of environmental insecurity is experienced in Finland in the beginning of 2000s? What are the threats and risks in environmental phenomena?

2. Which kind of activity is triggered by environmental insecurity? How does one perceive their own and others’ possibilities to affect the sources of environmental insecurity, and which kind of activity is preferred?

To answer the questions, the concept of environmental insecurity is subdivided into dimensions, operationalized into empirical concepts ISSP Environment 2010 survey data.
