Dr. Jürgen Schraten
Dr. Jürgen Schraten, born in 1972, studied political science, medieval history and sociology. From 1998 to 2008 he worked for the German Parliament as assistant of a Member of Bundestag. The doctoral thesis, written from 2001 to 2006, focussed on the legitimacy of the German unification in public reasoning and was published 2007 (»Die kollektive Erinnerung von Staatsverbrechen«, Nomos Verlag Baden-Baden). From 2006 to 2008 he additionally worked as lecturer at the Institute of Sociology, University Gießen. 2008 he changed from parliament to university and now is scientific assistant with main focus on the sociologies of democracy, economy and law, on collective memory, on psychoanalysis and its critics.
