Prof. Dr. Kazimierz Laski Kazimierz Laski was born in Warsaw in 1921. Starting out as an assistant to Michal Kalecki, he joined Warsaw’s University of Planning and Statistics as Professor of Economics in 1960 and then, from 1971, held a Chair in Economics at the University of Linz. He is on the staff of the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (WIIW), of which he is the former Director.
