Prof. Dr. Diane Elson
is Professor Emeritus at the University of Essex, UK. From 1995
to 2000 she held a chair in Development Studies at
Manchester University, and from 1998 to 2000 she
had been Special Advisor of the Executive Director
of Unifem (United Nations Development Fund
for Women). She is a member of the Editorial
Advisory Board of Development and Change,
of the Journal of Human Development and the
UK Women’s Budget Group. She is Council of
Overseas Development Institute and a past Vice
President of the International Association for
Feminist Economics.
