We are affiliated with the wholesalers Libri and Umbreit and supply them with all our new releases. Older titles are usually delisted by wholesalers as soon as they are no longer popular enough for them. However, we keep our titles available, relevant reports in the VLB or our own website are constantly updated.
We usually deliver at least every 2nd day, often daily. If it is in a hurry, tell us - then it will often work out on the same day, if necessary we will also choose "letter" as the shipping method. Up to 1 kg shipping weight, shipping takes place as a consignment or as a letter (narrow books), up to 2 kg as a small package. We send larger shipments via DPD.
Additional shipping costs: EU countries: up to 500 grams €2.25, up to 1000 grams €3.50, up to 2000 grams €7, up to 5 kg. 10 €, up to 10 kg. 14 €, up to 20 kg. €20 For Switzerland/Lichtenstein we charge €4 up to 500 grams, €6 up to 1000 grams, €10 up to 2000 grams and up to 5 kg. 25 €, up to 10 kg. €30 The recommended retail prices for Switzerland, which are recorded in the VLB, allow Swiss bookshops a margin that, taking these postage costs into account, is by no means worse than the margin of German booksellers.
We deliver books for inspection at any time and take back all books purchased directly from us, even if they were not expressly ordered with the right of return. Books obtained from wholesalers should also be returned through the wholesaler.
In order to process eBook orders from retailers, we need the customer's e-mail address so that we can deliver the eBook there directly. The invoice goes to the retailer at the same time and is discounted as for print orders.
Prices: as valid on the day of order. Prices are defined as Euro, including VAT
Dealers in Switzerland? Please order via Buchzentrum AG, Zürich. All other countries will be delivered by us.
Non-discounted delivery is postage free within Germany and abroad. Delivery abroad will be made by "Presse und Buch International" overland route. If you prefer delivery by air you will pay the extra cost.
Delivery within two business days. Please understand that book parcels sometimes take longer than simple letters - they may need up to three days or even more. In case of urgency we will try to get the parcel to the post office on the very same day. It might be better to despatch as a letter instead of parcel, the client assumes the extra cost.
If the book you ordered is not available we will contact you as soon as possible. If the edition is in preparation we will register your order; you are free to cancel at any time.
Within ten days without deduction by bank transfer or cheque. New clients who order books for more than 150 Euro are requested to pay in advance.
Articles remain the property of Metropolis until they are completely paid.
You may revoke your order within two weeks after receipt of articles without giving any reason but sending the article back to Metropolis Publisher. Payment will be refunded. Client pays postage except in cases of wrong delivery or defective articles. You will be charged for any defects during use such as dog-ears or dirty marks.Digital contents are excluded from the right for revocation because their nature is not made for returning.
In case of defects such as missing pages we will replace the article within two years and pay the postage.
Any disputes will be dealt with at the judical court of Marburg, if the client is entitled officially as a businessman or is representing a public corporation. Local authoritative law will be decisive too in cases of consumer rights.
The collection, processing and evaluating of clients' data is only for handling business transfers. Data will be transferred only to forwarding agencies. Clients agree for that. No data will be given to third persons or used for any other purpose.
Every essay and book you may download from this page is copyright protected. When downloading you commit yourself to private use of the texts only. You are not authorized to give them to third persons or to publish them. Libraries have the right to put paid PDF versions of our books on a server restricted to university and/or college members.
